Our Life in Temple

So, we have been in our new house now for a month and are starting to feel somewhat settled. We really like our house, our neighborhood, the community, and our ward. We have already make a lot of friends here and are really happy with the decision we made to settle here. We have already started our remodel process on our house by stripping and sanding the cabinets as we are staining them a much darker color. As soon as we finish the cabinets, we are ripping up the flooring and doing new tile (and hopefully new carpet), then new countertops, then hopefully onto the bathrooms! The projects won't end for a long time but we are excited about them. I thought I would share some pics of the house, though, before all the demolition and remodeling.

We have quickly discovered that Temple is a very family friendly place with constant activities to do. We took Bryson to a fishing derby at a nearby park the city hosted. It was completely free and so much fun. The city stocked the pond full of catfish, supplied the fishing pole and bait to every kid, and even supplied free food and water. Bryson didn't actually catch anything, but had fun with his Daddy and the highlight of his entire experience there was the helicopter that landed right in front of us and let him sit in it. He felt like the coolest kid ever!

Our little baby, Jaiton, is doing great! We took him in to his 2 month check up a couple of weeks ago and he weighed just over 15 lbs. He was barely on the growth chart! He is one little chunker, just like his big brother was! He is such a great baby and such a joy in our lives!

So, Grandma and Grandpa Byers sent gifts for Bryson & Jaiton a couple of weeks ago and this green outfit was one of them. Bryson put it right on and thought he looked so cool! He had to pose for the camera! The other two are pics of some of the random, goofy stuff he does everyday just about the time I am so fed up with him I don't know what to do, then he does something like this to make me laugh and forget and I'm so frustrated with him! He's a smart one!

Well, last post I shared I had just gone for my 1st run since the beginning of my pregnancy with Jaiton. I found some running buddies here and we have been running together for the past couple of weeks. I was brave and went ahead and did a 5k last Saturday with my friend, Elisabeth, and was really proud of myself. I ran all 3.1 miles and never stopped to walk. It wasn't very fast, but I did it and finished 7th in my age group and 42nd overrall (out of 100+). Slowly, but surely, I am determined to get back into shape!!!
