A little later, I go in the laundry room to switch over some laundry and Bryson comes in to help. He starts playing with the dryer door that then sprung closed, catching his finger in it and cutting it. His little finger was bleeding and he was hysterical so I took him in my bathroom to calm him down and render first aid to his little finger. After doing so, I walk out of my bathroom to find Jaiton with green wax all over his face, clothes, etc. and then find a half-eaten candle laying on the floor! So I dug out what I could out of his mouth, cleaned him up, and called poison control to be safe. They informed me he would be fine except maybe some diarrhea as the wax acts a laxative (who knew).
Bryson's Hurt Finger
So, after dealing with the cereal mess, Bryson's bloody finger, and having to call poison control for the first time in my motherhood career, I thought nothing else could go wrong..but I was wrong! Isaac and Bryson got home from t-ball practice and I decided after such a day I needed to go for a run. I was getting my music on and getting ready to head for the door when I hear glass shatter. Jaiton had gotten a peach jar out of the cabinets, dropped it on the tile floor shattering glass everywhere, then stepped on the glass before I could get to him! More mess to clean up, more crying to calm down, and more blood to deal with! At this point, I thought "what the heck is going on today!"
We got it all cleaned up, and most importantly, Jaiton is fine. There are definitely days that test my patience and sanity, but like every other mother, I get through them, laugh about them later, and keep going because I wouldn't give this up for the world...
"Don't take it personal. I just wanna be all alone..." You know the rest! So, can I still say that I have never even heard that song, but still know it from you singing it all of the time and this post totally made me start singing it! So funny! Loved your post and know exactly how you feel! Glad you survived the day!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is definitely quite a day!! How does it always happen in the same day?? I'm glad you can look back on it and laugh. Keep up all the good work, your kids are adorable!!
